I had a good idea that I wanted to be a doctor early on—when you’re 17 it’s hard to be like, “I want to go to medical school.” You really don’t know what that means yet. Throughout undergrad I tried to seek verification that that was actually what I was supposed to do. Because I was PLME I was able to study abroad and do all of these cool things that sometimes you don’t have the opportunity to do in the traditional premed path. I think it was a combination of volunteering experiences in college. And I love Brown—I don’t think I would have been able to explore my interests anywhere else. That was a big piece of it for me. I studied abroad at University College in London. I did psychology and biology there. I spent six months there, studied abroad, traveled, and had an amazing college experience there.

Brown had everything, the combined program, the interest in liberal education, the opportunity to do research and study abroad, and I remember visiting and feeling very comfortable here.
The biggest thing I learned here is Brown is a great place to be. It’s really supportive. There are definitely parts of med school that are really challenging, and you’ll have doubts at certain points. You just have to really trust everything that’s going on here and trust the administration here. Everyone is really caring and really supportive. It’s really important to remember at the tough parts of medical why you wanted to be a doctor in the first place.’
