I took this photo on a trip to Iceland shortly before I started medical school. The volcano, Fagradalsfjall, had recently started erupting, and the usual path that took folks close to the volcano was overrun with lava. Thus, we hiked up a new trail to an overlook that allowed us to peer into the volcano a bit more. Yet I still had to use my longest lens to capture the shot!
