Funded by National Institutes of Health (NIH) since 2018, CFAR averages $31 million annually, resulting in 600+ publications. Beyond local impact, international collaborations span Kenya, the Philippines, South Africa, Ukraine, and more.   The Rhode Island Medical Society is proposing the first-of-its-kind Medical Preparatory Academy. Aimed at addressing healthcare workforce needs, it emphasizes equity in medicine for underrepresented groups. If approved, MedPrep will start with 156 students in grades 7-8, expanding to a full 7-12 program by 2028-29, offering a unique curriculum with hands-on medical experiences.
