In her series “Memory Networks,” artist China Blue investigates the idea of linking and preserving memories in web-like structures reminiscent of neural networks. Her paintings are made with hand-fabricated paint infused with aluminum, which was once thought to be the source of Alzheimer’s disease. Blue is the artist-in-residence at Rhode Island Hospital’s Norman Prince Neurosciences Institute. A collection of 17 paintings, “Memory Networks” was exhibited at Alpert Medical School in conjunction with Brain Awareness Week in March.
