Spiritually Rich

I first encountered the attitude of the University about a potential medical school during my freshman year at Brown (1952-1953). President Henry Wriston addressed the class at a compulsory chapel session (weekly!) in Sayles Hall. He told us that we would get a wonderful, broad liberal education that would make us better citizens but we would not be taught to make a living. He was right.
