Herbert P. Constantine, 85, of Providence, died May 3, 2015. Born in Buffalo, NY, he earned his medical degree at the University of Buffalo School of Medicine. He was chief of ambulatory care and community medicine at Rhode Island Hospital and served on the Brown faculty for more than 30 years; upon his retirement, in 1997, he was named professor emeritus of health services, policy, and practice. A Providence resident for more than 50 years, Herbert remained active in retirement, serving as a consultant to the state Department of Health and on the boards of directors of local community health centers, the Moses Brown School, and the Providence Athenaeum. He also was a member of the Providence Art Club. He is survived by his wife, Muriel, and two children, Paula and John.
